If you like handmade stickers on every surface telling you the do’s and don’t’s of being a guest, you’ll love this place! Should I use a metal utensil on this Teflon pan? Oh, there’s a helpful note for that. Should I open the bathroom window to avoid excessive steam buildup? Yes! There’s a note for that. Can I put food in the sink? Sticker says no, but doesn’t explain details. Does the fireplace work? Host says no, but the boxes of matches, lighter, and fireplace dust suggest otherwise. Can I use the sauna? Host says no, the insurance company won’t allow it. The property is in a beautiful location. Amazing views, listen to the sound of Lake Superior at night. It’s a cool little cozy place. Unfortunately the host is problematic and use of the property is unreasonably restricted in my opinion.

We had the most amazing stay at the Funky Beach Cottage — it was even better than we expected! The space was cozy, stylish, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect, close to everything yet peaceful and private. Patrick was fantastic — super responsive and welcoming. One of the biggest highlights for us was how pet-friendly the cottage was. It made our trip so much more enjoyable knowing our “girls” were just as welcome as we were. Highly recommend this gem — we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at the Funky Beach House with our group of five! The house lived up to its name with funky, eclectic art and a cozy, comfortable vibe. We spent hours enjoying the decks, swimming, and relaxing by the fire on the beach. It’s close enough to Marquette for convenience but far enough away to enjoy the calm and quiet. We’d love to return!
