The highlight of my trip to the Douro valley.
If you really want to know the region, its culture and its people - this is the tour you are looking for.

This walk was a highlight during our time in the Douro Valley. We learned so much about the vineyards, plus olive and cork production. The walk ended with a lovely lunch composed of the traditional small plates that Antonio’s family eats, and wine and port made by Antonio’s father-in-law. Magical!

My husband and I had a wonderful time walking with Antonio! He gave us a lovely tour of his village as well as one of his family’s plots of land, showing us their grape plants and explaining aspects of the wine making process. We really enjoyed getting the chance to learn more about the lives of the people living and working in the Douro Valley. The area is beautiful, made more so by Antonio’s descriptions of the regional culture and explanation of local farming practices. We were honored to be invited into his family’s home to enjoy a delicious homemade meal which included red wine, port, olive oil, and honey made by his family. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and share the day with Antonio! We would love to return and will be recommending his tour to friends and family visiting the area.

What a fantastic experience. We loved the tour and learning about the area and culture (past and present) but having lunch at his house was wonderful.
