The experience of a lifetime if you are interested in the lives of ordinary Colombians in the middle of economic adversity and all the political strife of recent decades. You really get to spend time in depth with friendly, articulate locals who have overcome extraordinary obstacles and built a strong, inclusive community in the middle of a lot of hardship. One person who took the tour with me was in tears to hear the story, it is very inspiring. Comuna 4 is easy to access via the Metro, and you will feel safe throughout the experience. You will enjoy interacting in Spanish if you can, but they are very scrupulous to translate everything into English. You also have lots of opportunities to ask questions. Don’t miss this tour!
