But before that both Hani and Ceci were answering questions about places to eat in the area, other places to see beyond Varenna, etc. It really helped us feel at ease in making the trip. She also told us about what she knew about other parts of Lake Como. This was hopefully the first trip of several to come to the lakes region.

Ceci was our guide. She was honest and upfront about what she knew and what she didn't. We had 7 & 8-year-old boys with us. She ended up holding our 7-year-old's hand for most of the trip and was very patient while he talked everyone's ears off.

We took the less-steep trail to Castello di Vezio, and Ceci was helpful in showing us where to go. We also went to the churches in the area and she knew a good bit a bout those.

Ceci also knew when to let us soak it all in and stopped talking. Varenna was the star of the tour, not her. This was very different from some of the tours we have taken. It was much appreciated.
