The complex is safe, the people friendly, and the stay was merely bearable, but unpleasant. I'd hate for another family to experience this kind of stay without being told upfront.

We were very excited to arrive at our accommodation on Sunday, 9Jul. It was us & our 2 little children. The carpets were dirty, then saw the bathroom was infested with roaches. Later we saw them in the bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. The microwave was quite dirty, we weren't comfortable using it for our 3 days' stay. There was no bug spray, we had to buy some, as well as detergents. We asked to have the place cleaned on day 2, but her cleaner was ill, so it didn't happen. She offered for the last day, but it wasn't going to make a difference to our experience after managing 2 days of the state. Only 1 day's Loadshedding schedule was provided although asked. The spare blanket was dirty. DSTV wasn't working, neither the battery lamp (for loadshedding). We asked for a refund, but we couldn't reach an agreement.

On the day of arrival, we had to message repeatedly to obtain access codes to the estate. The unit had no electricity as the host had not topped up the meter. This meant no possibility of a hot shower or bath. The kitchen had a foul smell, with cockroaches visible. The bathroom had black mould on the wall and ceiling. The basin had thick residue near the plug. The main bedroom had high windows with no privacy to the public carports above. The second bedroom curtain rail was hanging off the wall. When we called the host regarding no electricity, she explained she was in the UK and unable to pay the meter and asked if we could do it and she would refund us. When we advised her that there was no tea or coffee on offer, she said her rate was very low and we shouldn't expect it. We had no choice but to leave and check into a hotel at considerable additional cost.

Quiet comfortable place to stay in.
Private and peaceful.
