Howie was entertaining and fun in sharing his knowledge and career-related experiences. Definitely a worthwhile way to get an interesting bit of variety from the rest of the Royal Mile!

For people both knowledgeable in their tartan/clan ancestry and newbies with a curiosity about Scottish culture… This is a compulsory experience while in Edinburgh!

Our host is the owner of the kilt making shop, and we'll go into granular detail about the history of kilts and modernizing it to today's fashion trends. I belong to clan Anderson, and Howie use my tartan as an example for the class.... making it deeply personal for me.

Howie and the team were amazing ! This experience is a great way to understand and fall in love with kilts & the Scottish Heritage. Howie is extremely knowledgeable since he is a 4th generation kilt maker. The workshop is fun and filled with warmth, love and passion for the art of the kilt. I will visit Howie and the team the next time I am in Edinburgh ! You might even see Fonzie when you are there...

Howie is awesome, and has been in the kilt-making business his entire life. He owns a small tailor shop right on the Royal Mile, right in the thick of it all. We had a great time learning about how kilts have been interwoven with Scottish history and culture (see what I did there?). He taught us the proper way to wear a kilt, told us about some of his experiences making kilts for his clients (including multiple household names), and we of course got to try one on. It was a blast and a very unique, informative experience!
