This little gem was just perfect for some much needed time out. I felt right at home and could have easily stayed another few nights.

The surroundings are beautiful and I spent hours on the couch just reading, relaxing and listening to the bird song. Lovely walks and thoroughly enjoyed the natural pool. The few people I bumped into were friendly and shared local knowledge willingly. Iolanda was very kind and happy to assist.

The dogs loved every minute and returned home exhausted 😊 absolute bliss!’

We had a great stay in Suurbraak! Bridget and Maggie's cabin is beautiful and comfortable, very well equipped too. The pizza oven setting next to a running stream was the best. Checking in and out was easy, communication was very always good. Will definitely come back!

We had such a relaxing family getaway at Bridget and Maggie’s place. Iolanda was a wonderful, welcoming host, available to help with anything at the drop of a hat. Each person in our family found interesting books in the well stocked bookshelves, including many nature focused books from B & M’s publishing company, Jacana Media. We bird watched for hours from the comfort of the sofa (we brought our own binocs but there was also a high quality pair in the cottage), went for a beautiful hike up the mountain, enjoyed the river immensely, made so much pizza in the pizza oven. There was so much to do to keep us all happy and offline for 4 days. Kids were happy, dogs were happy and parents were thrilled to have found such a gem of a home away from home to enjoy.
Other notes, the kitchen was very well stocked and included pantry items others had left behind. Bring a little extra to share with the next guest.
There was plenty of extra space in the shed for us to store our mountain bikes.
