Great place, great view

"Unwelcoming" is the phrase that best describes my stay.

I've stayed at many Airbnb's over the years and they generally are either an informal experience like staying with a friend/relative, or it's run like a hotel in someone's spare room. Somehow this was the worst of both worlds.

There were very limited check-in times which made me have to reschedule my day.

All rooms of the house (living room/kitchen/etc) were private except the room I was staying in, which didn't have a lock. The walls are not well sound insulated so I could hear everything she was doing in the living areas, and it made me feel like I was intruder hiding in her spare room.

Both before and during the stay Nicola sent me long lists of instructions about how she expects guests to behave.

I've never had an airbnb host who is simultaneously distant and demanding.

Nicolas place is very lovely. We enjoyed our short 1 night stay - would definitely stay again.
