This was our second stay at Shady Acres Farm. We loved the visit! The home is extremely peaceful and inviting. We hope to have the opportunity to stay again in the future!

What a peaceful weekend escape! The house itself is cozy and charming, with a back porch that quickly became our favorite spot—especially with the daily visits from friendly neighbors of the four-legged kind. My husband loved spending time by the pond, and our 8-month-old got the sweetest introduction to farm life, meeting her very first cow and horse (both incredibly gentle and friendly).

The thoughtful amenities made our stay feel extra special. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious egg and pancake breakfast, and James went above and beyond to make sure everything was well-stocked—not the typical basic supplies you often find, but truly quality touches that made us feel cared for.

We loved having the best of both worlds: the serenity of nature and the ease of being just a short drive from Waco’s local attractions. A big thank you to James and his family for sharing their little slice of farm life with us—it was an experience we’ll treasure!
