Graham is an enthusiastic and friendly guide. He is very knowledgeable about birds, their habitat, and their behaviors. During our tour, Graham gave each birder individual attention, helping us find the birds hidden in the leaves. Shelby Bottoms, just across the river from downtown, is a great place for birding so close to Broadway. Birding with Graham is a great way for visitors and locals to spend a morning in Nashville.

The host, Graham, was so knowledgeable about birds and birding. We saw so much. He had a reference guide where he could show us the birds he was hearing and seeing and a large telescope (with a camo covering!) where he could zero in on a special view. We had 5 people in our group, and it was a great size for all of us to have questions answered and get expert tips. The trail where he led us was also peppered with tall grasses and wildflowers. It was a beautiful setting on a beautiful morning. I recommend the experience highly.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Nashville for a few days. We casually like to watch birds at home, and thought this would be a fun thing to do on our trip. It turned out to be exactly that. We identified 20+ birds we’ve never seen before and had a great time disconnecting from the craziness of Broadway. Graham is clearly an expert in his field and we learned so much from him during the two hour experience. I recommend BYOB (bring your own binoculars) so you can keep up with the group birdwatching. Also bring some shoes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty, as you are out in nature at a beautiful park. This is perfect for a whole range of people - whether your bird knowledge level is just “oh birds are cute” or if you’re an avid bird watcher, spending the time with Graham will lead to a newfound appreciation of birds. Highly recommend!

If you are interested in birds, Graham is the man to guide you! He is extremely knowledgeable and is eager to share that knowledge with others. It is obvious he has spent hours in the field birding - he is great at spotting birds and identifying birds with chip notes and calls. The fields of Shelby Bottoms were gorgeous on our hike - when we weren't spotting birds we got to admire the morning sun lighting up the grasses and spider webs. If you are from out of town, this is the perfect hike to see and possibly learn about local Tennessee birds. If you are local and just want an excellent bird guide, look no further!
