I’m Roberta, the chef-owner of Sud—o Pássaro Verde Café in Rio. Over the course of my culinary journey, I became the first woman to lead the kitchen at the Brazilian president’s official residence. As chef of Roberta Sudbrack, the Rio restaurant I ran from 2005 to 2017, I earned a Michelin star and was named Best Female Chef in Latin America by Restaurant magazine.

We expected a standard cooking class and stumbled into the most INCREDIBLE experience. Chef Roberta is such a gem and her food is amazing. The location in the gardens just outside of Rio is remarkable. The close attention to each touch point (e.g., they hired a translator for us, gave delightful gifts, transportation was taken care of, etc) was very thoughtful. We would recommend this true Airbnb “experience” a thousand times over!!!
