Ferry Point Park You are a local while at Kent Island Beach Houses so enjoy what the locals like. Don't forget the camera! 41 acres of tidal and non-tidal wetlands as well as uplands. Take in the wildlife beachy scenery along the one-mile unpaved trail that ends at the sandy shoreline. You are surrounded by three bodies of water (Chester River, Kent Narrows and Piney Creek) complete with sitting benches and interpretive signage for visitors to observe the abundant natural resources. The Park is a wonderful interpretive and passive recreation spot within the Kent Narrows. As an added plus, Ferry Point Park is accessible from the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitor Center where the restrooms for the park are also located. Ferry Point Park is a nature park, so they don't allow coolers, grills, open fires, shade structures, or fishing. Go to Matapeake for that.

This small secluded beach is a short walk from the parking lot at the Chesapeake Bay Heritage Center. The water is shallow, so it tends to be warmer and you can venture out pretty far. Note that this is a nature preserve. Umbrellas and coolers are prohibited. Beach chairs, blankets and food are allowed.
